Hawaii Hurricane 2014 – Iselle
Hurricane Iselle's presence can still be felt here in the Puna district of the Big Island. People work to reassemble some sense of normalcy as the utility companies do there best to reconnect the modern comforts we tend to take for granted. There are power lines laid out like silly string from a can, trees twisted and snapped strewn across the landscape, Issace Hale beach park had giant boulders lifted from the belly of the ocean and planted throughout the parking lot. Along the Kopoho tide pools house were leveled or severely altered.
What a great time to reflect on what we have, what is important, and how we chose to move into the future.
