We take you over three miles off shore, where you can observe Galapagos and Sandbar sharks in their natural environment from the safety of a floating cage. No scuba experience is necessary, you enter the cage from above and stay on the surface using a mask and snorkel. Large Poly Glass windows let you peer into the open ocean and watch the sharks as they glide gracefully through the deep blue. From the start, Jeff and Teri Leicher of Jack’s Diving Locker had a vision to share Hawaii’s underwater world with a focus on friendship and a spirit of adventure. The couple loved meeting new folks and taking them to dive sites on the Kona Coast such as Suck’em Lava Tube, Golden Arches, or Kaiwi Point. With crystal clear water, beautiful coral reefs, lava rock arches and caverns, Jeff and Teri knew they were in the perfect place for their profession. Divers enjoyed the colorful reef fish, curious sea turtles, playful dolphins and much more. Does the idea of a shark cage get you excited or scared? Are you looking for that one-of-a-kind unique experience? Do you have a curiosity about sharks? Have you ever wondered what sharks do in their natural environment? Well, come with us and find out.
We are THE ORIGINAL, THE BEST, and the only adventure of its kind… At North Shore Shark Adventures our goal is to help to reshape your perspective about sharks. We aim to educate that sharks are not what we perceive them to be. They’re gentle for the most part but considered dangerous only because they’re more curious than anything. Sharks help to keep nature’s balance between the weak and the strong and are vital to mankind. Our two-hour tours depart from Haleiwa Small Boat Harbor on the North Shore of Oahu and head 3 miles out to sea where our shark cage is moored. We’ll place up to 8 people into our secured metal cage (we’ll provide your mask and snorkel) for 20 minutes. In the cage you’re free to view the sharks in their natural environment for your one-of-a-kind experience. After your twenty minutes are up, you’ll be excited to quell your fear and curiosity of sharks and you’ll want more! Often, we’ll see barracuda, dolphins, green sea turtles, flying fish, and humpback whales (Nov-April).
