Come dig-in to the fun as we finish spring seed planting and clearing and roto-tilling in of additional growing spaces in the schoolsʻ 1/2 acre “school farm”. We have plenty garden vegetable seeds to share too!

Other special projects include completing work on several 5 foot long vermicompost bins (worm farms!) so they can be distributed to schools across Maui, reorganizing the tool shed, moving the vegetable and native plant nurseries to final location on the “farm”. And as always…plenty of beautiful bark mulch to be distributed around the “farm” to mark our pathways, help control weeds and retain moisture, of course.

This Saturdayʻs workday is sponsored by Lokelani FFA club. Come meet some of Lokelaniʻs FFA (Future Farmers of America) club members as they remove their excellent Fall pumpkin patch which has already produce over 310 l=pounds of pumpkins in over 7 months of growing!

There are only a few active intermediate school FFA clubs in the state of Hawaii and Lokelani hosts one! Come see the FFA Fall pumpkin patch before it disappears!

And also…sign painting! come get your create groove on and help us through some color in the garden and identify our plants.

Please bring a re-fillable water container/hydro-flask, sun screen and hat as our South Maui days have been coming hot and sunny already this Spring! Light snacks and beverages provided. Volunteers welcome to share int he bounty of the harvest from the morning as well!
