Wailuku Elementary School Garden Work and Learn Day

Join the Wailuku School ohana for a fun morning in the school's garden as we transform this space for growing even more food! Lot's to do for every age and ability. Light snacks, sunscreen and water provided! Bring weeding tools, shovels and wheelbarrows if you can.
Cover Crops
Help us with turning the cover crops back into the soil, moving some box beds to new areas and creating a school garden plant nursery area!
Seed vegetable Starts
Or come and help plant some seeds in pots to help get vegetable starts going for classes beginning soon! If you have a home garden this sis a great opportunity to come check out our awesome seed selection. Plant and take home what you'd like to grow!
Composting
Workshop component this Work and Learn Day will be on composting and how to get a Worm Bin going for vermicomposting!
Garden Signs
Are you feeling artistic? Come make school garden signs to help students (and staff and parents) easily identify what plants we have growing in the garden!
We'll also need some help refurbishing a bamboo garden tunnel! can you lend a hand?
