On Saturday January 21, 2017 iconic UK reggae/pop ensemble UB40 featuring Ali Campbell, Astro and Mickey Virtue return to Honolulu for one night only. This year UB40’s “Reunited” tour played for two sold out shows at the Neal Blaisdell Arena and concert promoters Ray Jr. and Tantriq Entertainment expect a quick sell out this time around.
The band’s principle songwriter and venerable vocalist Ali Campbell, will be joined by exceedingly talented percussionist/trumpeter/vocalist Astro and outstanding keyboardist Mickey Virtue, all of whom are founding members of the original UB40. Known for their exuberant stage show, UB40 featuring Ali Campbell, Astro and Mickey Virtue will tantalize fans by performing all the hits that catapulted them to the forefront of the ubiquitous musical landscape including “Red, Red Wine,” “(I Can’t Help) Falling In Love,” “Kingston Town,” “One In Ten” and “Food For Thought.”
Formed in 1979, UB40 helped define reggae music for a generation. The pioneering reggae troupe topped the UK singles chart on three occasions, earned multiple Grammy nominations and sold 70 million records as they took their smooth yet rootsy musical blend to all corners of the globe.
