The Birth of Stars

May 10, 2016 @ 5:30 pm

The birth of stars is a dynamic process in which young stars interact with the cloud of gas and dust from which they are formed.

As young stars age and grow, they will destroy their parent cloud through stellar winds, outflows, radiation, and supernovae.

In this talk, we will explore these processes and see examples of them in action. Studying how stars form can give us clues to the origin of our own Sun and its collection of planets.

Program schedule is subject to change. For more information or to arrange a sign language interpreter and other special accommodations, please call the hosting library as soon as possible: 327-4327.
