Savor a Taste of the Symphony with Maestro Michael Stern and the Hawai‘i Symphony Orchestra
Enjoy “small bites” of what the Hawai‘i Symphony Orchestra will offer during the 2017-2018 season at Taste of the Symphony; tickets are just $5!
Music lovers rejoice! Taste of the Symphony – a flavorful sampling of music from the Hawai‘i Symphony Orchestra’s (HSO) 2017-2018 Halekulani Masterworks Season – returns Wednesday, September 27 at 7:00 pm. Led by Maestro Michael Stern, Taste of the Symphony is a preview concert that takes place immediately following the Honolulu Farmers’ Market. Tickets are only $5 cash and will only be available at the door of the Blaisdell Concert Hall beginning at 4:00 pm.
At Taste of the Symphony Maestro Stern will lead the HSO in a 70-minute program that takes concertgoers on a musical journey through the upcoming season, offering small bites of select programs. Giveaways and activities will add zest and spice to the event. The community is encouraged to come out for the Farmers’ Market and join in the fun. All ages are welcome!
The HSO’s 2017-2018 season opens with The New World on Sunday, October 1, and features Pianist Fabio Bidini and Maestro Michael Stern. The concert showcases Shostakovich’s Festive Overture and Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9 From the New World. Fabio Bidini brings his formidable talent to the stage performing Brahms Piano Concerto No. 2 – a quintessential masterpiece. While this music can be appreciated on a recording, there is nothing that can replace a live concert. Season subscriptions and individual tickets are on sale now.
