Sustainable Summer Day

In advance of the IUCN World Conservation Congress Hawai‘i 2016, the UH Manoa Summer Sessions’ Sustainable Summer Day kicks off an array of programs focusing on conservation and sustainability.

Bring the entire family to the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa campus for a free festival with environmental learning and conservation-related fun!
Participate in hands-on activities. Relax with tai chi, yoga, meditation, and live music. Watch free environmental movies and animation for kids from around the world. Learn about local conservation efforts and the organizations involved in sustaining and protecting our state.

Come and learn, participate, and make a commitment to the future of our planet!

Sunday, June 26, 2016
11am-3pm (KIDS FIRST! Film Fest 12.30pm-6.15pm)
UH Manoa Campus Center Courtyard, Legacy Path, Art Auditorium

Parking is free on Sundays (on campus or in the parking structure)

All events are free and open to the Public!

Highlights:
> Exhibitor tables with information and volunteer opportunities
> KIDS FIRST! Film Fest (12.30pm-6.15pm, Art Auditorium)
> Live entertainment with Paul Izak, Shoji Ledward, Kamalu, and Chie Blakeney, harpist with Aoyama Harp Hawaii
> Kids face painting
> Campus walking tour of endangered and threatened plants
> Vegetable seedling giveaway (while supply last)
> Succulent growing workshop
> Tai Chi, Yoga, Meditation (participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mats)
> Free bike repair
> Healthy food options

Sustainable Summer Day is a minimal waste event. We encourage everyone to bring their own refillable water containers.
