Join us for the Oahu Summer Reading Kick-off Event on Saturday, June 3 at the Hawaii State Library from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This free event will be fun for the whole family with lots of activities and events including:
· LEGO® Build Hawaii (10 a.m. – 1 p.m., Main Lobby) – Keiki ages 5 and older can help create a Lego® city with Play-Well TEKnologies by building their favorite Hawaii landmark. Six Lego®-building sessions will be available. Registration is recommended.
· Robotics Activities and Demonstration (10 a.m. – Noon, First Floor Reading Room) – Blue Fish Robotics will teach keiki ages 5 and older about robotics and they can participate in robotics soccer, robotics racing, and more.
· Giant Jenga Challenge (10 a.m. – 1 p.m., Front Lawn) – The whole family can combine their block-building skills in this exciting activity!
· Make a Bird Seed Feeder Activity (10 a.m. – 1 p.m., Courtyard) – Meadow Gold Dairies will help keiki ages 3 and older build their own bird seed feeder. All craft materials will be provided. Bring your camera to meet and take photos with Meadow Gold’s Lani Moo, Calci & Kawika.
· Children’s Storytime (10:30 a.m., Edna Allyn Room for Children) – Keiki ages 3 and older will enjoy this interactive storytime.
· Giving Back with Ronald McDonald (Noon, Edna Allyn Room for Children) – Keiki ages 3 to 8 can learn from Ronald McDonald how to share their time, talents, and gifts, and will be encouraged to share things they excel at or are interested in.
· Complimentary Refreshments on the Great Lawn
Please note – All keiki must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver for these activities and events.
