Stop Invasive Fire Ants

June 27, 2015 @ 11:45 am - 12:45 pm

“Tiny stinging ants are invading Hawaii!” On Saturday, June 27 starting at 11:45 am in the First Floor Reading Room of the Hawaii State Library, Chris Frohlich of the Oahu Invasive Species Committee, a partnership of federal, state and private agencies, will show how Little Fire Ants are becoming a threat to humans, pets, agriculture and the economy in Hawaii. Free test kits will be distributed to everyone so they can help locate and report the invaders for extermination. This is an excellent opportunity for adults to involve children in an ecology project that defends our environment.
