Slack Key with Jeff Peterson

June 28, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 6:15 pm

IN CELEBRATION OF THE 2017 SUMMER READING PROGRAM!

Slack key guitarist Jeff Peterson will discuss his life in music and perform some instrumental songs. Jeff is one of Hawaii’s most versatile and respected musicians, providing him with opportunities to collaborate with a wide variety of artists from Hawaii, the mainland and abroad. His focus on Slack Key guitar, classical, & jazz music has allowed him to develop a unique and transcendent voice on the guitar while being deeply rooted in the traditions of his Hawaiian heritage. This 45-minute program is suitable for all ages. Young children must be accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver.

Sponsored by the Friends of the Library of Hawai‘i, Hawaii State Federal Credit Union, Meadow Gold Dairies, Hawaiian Electric Companies, HMS Host, Hansen Distribution Group, Roberts Hawaii, Mitsunaga & Associates, Aloha United Way, and the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation. This is a production of the University of Hawaii at Manoa Outreach College’s Statewide Cultural Extension Program with additional funding and support provided by the National Endowment for the Arts, Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, and the University of Hawaii.

Program schedule is subject to change. Contact the library 15 days in advance to request a sign language interpreter or if special accommodations are needed.
