Plant Aloha (FREE Class): Intuitive Treatment-Free Beekeeping

Hawaiian Sanctuary is proud to present: Plant Aloha, a FREE educational series of sustainable farming classes. Every Thursday morning, from 9:00am until 12:30pm, with special Saturday monthly offerings, led by local and visiting experts.

Saturday January 14th 2017 – 9:00am-1:00pm
Special Saturday Class: Intuitive Treatment-free Beekeeping. Starting New Top Bar Hives with Jen Rasmussen.

�Bees are coming to Hawaiian Sanctuary! Join us as we set up two top bar hives with honeybees. Learn how to start a hive of your own and how to care for them without the use of chemical treatments. We invite you to explore the sweet side of honeybees.

Each class starts promptly with a lecture and Q&A before hands-on farm learning ~ Come prepared with notepad and writing utensil, closed toed shoes, sun hat, and gloves.

Facilitator:
Jen Rasmussen is the founder of Paradise Nectar Apiaries, a truly sustainable family business that offers pollination, pure hive products, honey bees, hives, education, and more. Over the past 5 years Jen has offered educational workshops, apprenticeships, hive maintenance, and has taught at HAAS & the University of Hawaii, Hilo. It is her passion to share her love for bees and show the kind & gentle side of caring for them. She teaches what she loves and loves to teach.
