Author Jill Engledow will talk about “New Adventures in Self Publishing” at [library and date]. Engledow, who has previously been published by traditional methods, recently put out a novel as both an e-book and a print-on-demand version. These two technologies, along with the Internet, are driving a new kind of book publishing that is still in the pioneer stages as writers and publishers learn how to best use these tools. For readers, the changes have meant fewer brick-and-mortar bookstores but greater access to a wide range of “indie” books and the convenience of downloading books to e-readers. Engledow will discuss how these changes are playing out and how several Maui authors are using these technologies to publish and distribute their own books.
