This Sunday, October 29th, at Shala, 8am-11am.
A rough outline of this 3-hour yoga workshop with Colee Garr
Chanting and the study of the opening & closing invocation & mantra.
Introduction to the internal forms of the practice: breathing, dristi, mudra, & asana.
Major fucus of this time together:
*establishing form, flow, and sound of the breath
*learning to move in and out of poses in union with the breath
*breathing/movement system: a means of staying present, mindful, and alert to the thoughts, sensations, & insights that may… or may not arise
Vinyasa practice:
*led practice loosely based on the primary series of Ashtanga Yoga leaving room for exploration and modifications
*explore the basic movements & breath pattern between posture
Relaxation postures & exercises:
*to relax you from head to toe and integrate this experience into your conscious and unconscious awareness
*to give you tools to deepen your understanding of the importance of simply relaxing & its benefits
Please bring a mat, small towel, & notebook/pen if you'd like to take notes. We have blankets, blocks, & straps, however, bring anything you need to take both a comfortable seat and practice.
