Movie Night @ the Library

August 26, 2015 @ 6:00 pm

Kāne'ohe Public Library will offer a free screening of “Lilo & Stitch” on “Movie Night @ the Library” in the Bookmobile Garage.

Disney’s “Lilo & Stitch,” a worldwide box office sensation and an Academy Award nominee for Best Animated Feature, is a heartwarming comedy about the power of loyalty, friendship, and ohana. On the lush and tropical Hawaiian Islands, an independent little girl named Lilo adopts what she thinks is an innocent puppy, completely unaware that he is a mischievous creature who has escaped from a faraway planet. Stitch takes Hawaii by storm, wreaking havoc and hanging ten while he evades the alien bounty hunters who are bent on recapturing him.

The movie also features music from Elvis Presley, Wynonna, and two original songs performed by Mark Keali'i Ho'omalu and the Kamehameha School's children's chorus.

“Lilo & Stitch,” featuring the voice talents of Chris Sanders (who also co-wrote and co-directed the film), Daveigh Chase, Tia Carrere, David Ogden Stiers, and Jason Scott Lee, is rated PG and suitable for all ages. Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Free popcorn and refreshments will be provided.

Program schedule is subject to change. Contact the library two weeks in advance if a sign language interpreter or other special accommodation is needed.

Kāne'ohe Public Library is located at 45-829 Kamehameha Highway. For more information, please call the Library at 233-5676.
