As part of Kipahulu Ohana's Malama I Ke Kai program, an ‘opihi “rest area” (voluntary no take zone) has been established for three years along the shoreline adjacent to Haleakala National Park, and several times a year we survey the opihi populations to monitor the results of the rest area.
Meet at Haleakala National Park campground.
