Winner of the silver medal at the Fifteenth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, pianist Kenny Broberg will perform at the Kahilu Theatre on Thursday, March 29th, 2018 at 7 PM. The Van Cliburn International Piano Competition is an American competition started in 1962 and is held once every four years. The competition takes place over the course of two weeks, where 30 competitors are chosen out of hundreds of applicants and participants perform four live rounds for judges, covering everything from solo performances to concertos. The 23-year-old Broberg is noted for his remarkable technique, keen musical instincts, and great sensitivity to dynamics, leaving audiences with little doubt as to why he was selected as a Cliburn medalist.
