Jennifer Owen will be teaching a workshop open to the community at the Molokai Arts Center on Thursday September 7th from 6-8 pm, covering a range of potential topics, such as remedial throwing techniques, mixed clay, sgraffito, as well as glazing techniques. She will begin the workshop with a short lecture. The cost for the community class is $20 for MAC members, or $25 for nonmembers. Jennifer Owen is currently the assistant professor of 3-dimensional art at UHMC, as well as the ceramics department head and instructor at Hui No’eau Visual Arts Center in Makawao, Hawaii. She graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University in Art History and Fine Arts, where she was a recipient of the Francis LeMoyne Page Award for excellence in visual arts.
