Imiloa Presentation: Oceanic Navigational Astronomy

30,000 years ago, a voyaging people sailed from their origin in Southeast Asia and began an epic oceanic migration which populated Indonesia, Australia and eventually the islands in the Pacific.

Today this legacy continues as Pacific Oceanic navigators have just completed the Mālama Honua Worldwide Voyage.

Come learn about different perspectives on navigational astronomy and indigenous techniques of wayfinding, and see how these techniques have evolved into modern day wayfinding.
