For the month of May, the HSL Book Group will discuss Imagine Me Gone by Adam Haslett.
In this 2016 novel, when Margaret’s fiancé John is hospitalized for depression, she faces a choice: break the engagement or marry despite the suffering it may bring her. She decides to marry John. What follows is the unforgettable story of the decades that follow this act of love and faith. Ranked as one of the best books of its year by TIME, Wall Street Journal, BBC, and NPR, Imagine Me Gone was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and was longlisted for the National Book Award.
The HSL Book Group meets on the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Language, Literature, and History Section. New members are always welcome. No registration necessary. Inquiries about the Hawaii State Library Book Group can be directed to hslbookgroup@gmail.com or (808) 586-3499.
