Chuck Chimera from the Hawaii Invasive Species Committee will discuss using Native Hawaiian Plants. The lecture will last 30 – 45 minutes with a question and answer period to follow. There will be a display including native plant books.
Chuck Chimera has worked in native plant conservation for 25 years. He has a botany degree from UH Manoa, and has worked for the USGS Biological Resources Division, Haleakala National Park, and currently for the Hawaii Invasive Species Council. He has also run his own native plant nursery, and has successfully grown almost as many native plants as he has accidentally killed.
