For the month of June, the Hawaii State Library Book Group will discuss Year of Wonders by Geraldine Brooks.
Based on the history of the small Derbyshire village of Eyam, this New York Times and Washington Post Notable Book follows young widow Anna Frith in the spring of 1665 as a growing number of villagers succumb to the plague and survivors are struck with madness and despair.
The HSL Book Group meets on the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Language, Literature, and History Section. New members are always welcome. No registration necessary.
