Get Your Buzz on for Bees!

October 23, 2015 @ 1:00 pm

Aloha!
The Hawaii Center for Food Safety and Sustainable Community Food System Program students would like to invite you to come see what the buzz is all about at a Pollinators Pau Hana! Thursday October 29th 5:30-7pm in the UHWO Organic Garden Hale.

Free and open to everyone, bring a friend!

Up to 95% of all flower plants and one in every three bites we take depends on pollination by honeybees. This fun and informative event will present why pollinators are essential to the ecosystem and to the food we enjoy. Recently bees, bats, butterflies, and other pollinators have been severely threatened and are experiencing unprecedented population declines. The health of pollinators directly impacts food production and food security, come learn about what you can do!

There will be pupus, prizes and presentations by:
Larissa Walker, Sustainable food advocate and Pollinator Program Director for the Center for Food Safety &
Albie Miles, Professor of Sustainable Community Food Systems.

It will be the Bee’s Knees!

The UHWO Organic Garden is located behind building D
