February's instructor will be artist and Molokai Arts Center Studio Manager, Apelila Madella, who will be teaching the image here, “Rooted”. Apelila is reminded of how trees help us live and breathe, also how their roots run deep our lives. The tree can represent strength and a feeling of being rooted so when wind blows nothing can stop you!

About the Artist:
Apelila Maddela is born and raised here on Moloka’i and her love of art, drawing, and painting has allowed her to express herself in many creative forms. She is a long time employee of the Molokai Arts Center where she works as the studio manager and teaches art and ceramic classes for both children and adults.
