When breath and movement are coordinated, we settle in; we move deeper
into our center and into the heart.
When we learn to root down and connect with the earth, we discover a
profound sense of confidence and thus relaxation within ourselves.
In this 3 day workshop we will explore the meaning of Vinyasa as well as develop the
concepts of Breath, Roots and Core. We will adapt these concepts to keep us
grounded in Yogic Philosophy.
Vinyasa means gradual, step-by-step approach. Breath is the unifying focal point.
With Breath we unite the body, mind and Spirit. Roots refers to the origin of our work.
Core is used to point us inwards. When we are able to maintain
this focus, we progress more efficiently to the true goal of Yoga. We
settle into our true nature and deep relaxation.
Focusing on a different theme each day, these afternoon workshop sessions will be an opportunity to go deeper through a dynamic asana practice. With a clear and precise approach, Maty will emphasize correct alignment while working appropriately at your level of experience.
These workshops provide and indispensable body of knowledge for both teachers and practitioners who wish to deepen their understanding of Asana practice.
Topics will include:
-Proper Shoulder Alignment in popular poses
-Safe and fun Back Bends for all levels
-Inversions and arm balances
-Modifying poses for individuals
-The effective use of props
-Universal actions and alignment
-Problem-Solving for common injuries
