Celebrate Read Across America

Kapolei Public Library will offer free events during its 11th annual Children’s Spring Reading Program.

March 12: 10:30 – noon. Saturday. Read Across America. – Celebrate Read Across America with students from UH West Oahu Student National Education Association as they read Dr. Seuss books. Various crafts and activities for keiki are planned for this event.

March 16 – March 31: Spring Reading Program. Kapolei Public Library will be holding is Spring Reading Program from March 16th through 31st. Children 6th grade and younger are invited to sign up for the two-week program which encourages reading at least 20 minutes per day during most schools’ spring intercessions. Participants will receive weekly prizes and may be eligible to win bonus awards…just by reading! Younger children whose parents read aloud to them are invited to participate in the program.**

March 19. 10:30 a.m. Saturday: Honolulu Theatre for Youth presents: The Tiny Tree.

March 21. 10:30 a.m. Monday. Zac’s Rabbits. Learn about different breeds of rabbits by Zachary Johnson of Zac’s Rabbitry. Keiki will have the opportunity to meet some of the furry long-ears following the presentation. This event will be held in lieu of a regularly scheduled storytime. **

March 24. 10:00 a.m. Thursday. A special storytime with Mermaid Malia. “The Brave Mermaid” is a story that teaches children the importance of believing in themselves and following their dreams. Keiki will have the opportunity to take a photo with Mermaid Malia following her storytime. This event will be held in lieu of a regularly scheduled storytime. **
