April 30, 2016 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

This course will offer information and references for building inexpensive planter boxes, containers, and ‘totes' using recycled lumber, such as pallets. Specific tropical edible plants for Hawai'i landscapes in containers (to include fruits, vegetables, and herbs) will be discussed.

Soils, environment, culture, and potential challenges for this type of growing will be covered. Emphasis will be on successful container growing for homeowners, renters, townhouse, and condominium owners who wish to grow an optimal amount of food in a small space.
