All Bodies Rise Yoga is as much about self care as it is a call to action. This workshop will offer students an opportunity to examine personal and social myths about beauty and health, and how this is impacted by yoga culture. We will learn ways to respond to the effects of trauma and create a safer environment for trauma survivors in yoga spaces. Participants will reclaim our attitudes towards our own bodies so we can help our students heal from systematic body dysmorphia. As a group, we will create ways to make yoga culture more inclusive, safe, and accessible. Jeniffer will lead you through exercises that foster a deeper relationship with your one and only beautiful body, help sooth your nervous system, and nurture yourSelf. All Bodies Rise Yoga!

Jeniffer Zimmerman is a yoga teacher and mental health therapist specializing in trauma and addiction recovery. She has over twenty years experience as a social worker and group facilitator. In the spirit of challenging the culture that sells us a paradigm in which no body is good enough, she began teaching LoveYoBody, an inclusive yoga class at Yoga Oasis in Tucson, Arizona. The class weaves together yoga, mental wellness, and social justice. She also incorporates yoga and breath work into her therapy practice. Jeniffer holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from NAU, a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Prescott College, and is a LAC, 200RYT.

Heather Heintz has been training and certifying yoga teachers for over a decade. She invites participants to dig deep into their personal relationship to self, to other, and to practice before taking the seat as a teacher. She ordained as a Buddhist Chaplain with Roshi Joan Halifax in 2014 and weaves the dharma into her teaching. She is currently working on a Masters Degree in Social Work with an emphasis on parental bereavement. She lives with her partner and their baby boy in Volcano.
