1st Sunday Gospel Jam

Aloha, and welcome to Hilo “Gospel Jazz Jam”! First event at Kukuau Studio (43D Kukuau St), Sun May 3, from 6:30 – 9:00p, and will continue on a monthly basis. The host band is calling itself the “The GJH Band” ( Gospel Jazz Hawaii), Rob Yamanoha – gtr/voc, Tracy Yanagi – bass/voc, George “Iki” Camarillo – keys/voc, Owen Matsui – dr ), and other musicians / singers are invited to participate. There will be 2 mics set up for vocalists and horn players to join in for some background/lead vocals and improv solos. to let me know what tunes you know and want to do so we can coordinate to have you join in on at least a few. Songs we do will be posted on this site, with videos, lyrics, keys, solo section chords, etc. Also, feel free to post a song in this genre that you'd like to do, and we can see if we can learn it. ALL singers / musicians / listeners are invited to participate, knowing there's “praise and worship” involved … of our almighty God and His Son, Jesus Christ … using our voices and instruments to create some cool grooves, and improvisations … for His glory.
