Kindergarten Readiness Storytime Starts Jan. 13 at Liliha Library
Liliha Public Library will offer Kindergarten Readiness Storytime, a series of seven free sessions on Wednesdays from January 13 through February 24, 2016 at 10 a.m. These one-hour storytime sessions will be conducted in the Children’s Section.
Children ages 4 and 5, accompanied by a parent or caregiver, are invited to participate in stories, songs, rhymes and hands-on activities to prepare for the start of school. Parents and caregivers can learn simple early literacy skill practices to bring home and teach their child. Storytime is followed by interaction stations that connect adults and children through activities that correspond to that week’s early literacy skill practice. Participants will receive a free calendar, while supplies last, that includes recommended weekly activities for preparing children for school.
Contact the Library two weeks in advance of a scheduled Wednesday Storytime if a sign language interpreter or other special accommodation is needed.
Liliha Public Library is located at 1515 Liliha Street, next to the H-1 Freeway Eastbound onramp. Free parking is available on the rooftop. For more information, please call the Library during regular public service hours at 587-7577.
