Not many people know that The Pig & the Lady restaurant is a guest tenant of the Pacific Gateway Center, who's mission is to empower immigrants, refugees and low-income in building skills so they may access opportunities to achieve self-sufficiency. They do this through programs such as ESL classes, Hawaii Health-Connector seminars, job placement opportunities and promoting entrepreneurship through culinary business practices via their incubator kitchen space. The good work at PGC doesn't come cheap and we at the Pig are committed to helping out with their mission by throwing several fundraisers for them throughout the year.
One of them is this Sunday, December 6 at the restaurant. We will be serving lunch at 11am and 12:45pm and all proceeds go to PGC, specifically for their upcoming Nā Kūpuna Makamae, a new senior resource center that will be built out of the old Kaka'ako pump station. Please support this great non-profit organization, who just so happens to be our host too. Tickets are only $25 and in return, you get a great lunch cooked by us!
