History of Quilting with Viv Smith

November 21, 2015 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Viv will give us a brief glimpse into the history of quilting, with particular emphasis on America, where our history can be seen in the history of our quilts, along with quilting in the 21st Century where it becomes an artistic medium utilizing modern fabrics, piecing and quitling machines, and the use of computers and printers.

Handouts will be available, as well as a trunk show of dozens of quilts to showcase both old and modern patchwork, strip piecing, applique, embroidery, and hand and machine quilts.

Program schedule is subject to change, and the program is intended for ages 12 and older.

For more information or to arrange a sign language interpreter or other special accommodation, please call the hosting library as soon as possible: 327-4327.
