Hawaii Digital Newspaper Project with Alice Kim at Kaimuki Public Library.
The Hawaii Digital Newspaper Project is a collection of Chronicling America (http://chroniclingamerica.com), which provides free public access to digitized American newspapers published from 1836 to 1922. This one hour presentation will feature topics of interest from Hawaii newspapers and demonstrate search strategies on Chronicling America's newspaper database. The end of the presentation will included a Q-&-A session for participants.
The University of Hawaii at Manoa runs the Hawaii Digital Newspaper Project, which the Library of Congress and National Endowment for the Humanities sponsor.
Alice Kim served as the graduate research assistant for the Hawaii Digital Newspaper Project. A digitization coordinator, part-time instructor, and editor, Alice has a Master of Library and Information Science degree.
