Save the date for the 5th Annual Hawai‘i Chocolate Festival, the state’s premier showcase of Hawai`i-grown chocolate products. Hawai`i’s sweetest celebration takes place on Friday through Sunday, October 16 – 18, 2015 at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center in a special section of the Food and New Product Show. Event hours are Friday from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. The Food and New Product Show $5 admission provides free entrance into the Hawai`i Chocolate Festival to browse, learn and shop for all things chocolate or select the $20 tasting passport for admission and special chocolate sampling from some of the state’s top chocolatiers.
With more than two-dozen exhibitors, the Hawai‘i Chocolate Festival is the ultimate experience for chocolate connoisseurs who can sip and savor from an array of chocolate delights. There are also educational and informational displays about locally grown cacao and how it is transformed into chocolate; a chocolate-inspired spa; Cacao plants in the Chocolate Garden and more. It all adds up to one sweet way to spend the weekend!
Hawai’i is the only state in the U.S. currently growing cacao, and the mission of the Hawai`i Chocolate Festival is to stimulate global interest in Hawai’i’s chocolate industry. The festival partners with farmers, local business, educators and government to showcase and highlight chocolate products made exclusively from Hawaiian-grown cacao beans as well as other chocolates of Hawai`i.
