Enjoy a slide show and community talk story session focusing on historical sites in the ahupua'a of Paeahu. Over 150 historical sites remain forgotten in undeveloped lands mauka of the shoreline resorts and visitor-oriented neighborhoods of Waile'a. Since none of these existing sites is recommended for preservation, the slide presentation offers interested citizens a rare chance to view this hidden legacy of Paeahu before it disappears. The ahupua'a of Paeahu is also the solemn resting place of hundreds of traditional Hawaiian burials dating as far back as the14th century.
The slide show will be facilitated by local historical researchers, Lucienne de Naie and Daniel Kanahele. Kama’aina of the area are also been invited to share their family stories and remembrances of the region.
