TIOKASIN GHOSTHORSE Songs of the Lakota Flute

Tiokasin Ghosthorse is world-renown as a master musician and one of the great exponents of the ancient red cedar Lakota flute, Tonight, he plays for us. He speaks with us. He opens our hearts with music and then, in an interview with author/talk show host Jeremy Vaeni, brings us deeper into the pressing issues of the day, before opening up for audience Q&A.

ABOUT TIOKASIN:
Tiokasin Ghosthorse is from the Cheyenne River Lakota (Sioux) Nation of South Dakota and the bands of Itazipco/Mnicoujou and Oglala. He is the host of First Voices Indigenous Radio on WBAI NY – Pacifica Radio, and has had a long history in Indigenous rights activism and advocacy that began as a teenager, when he spoke at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. Tiokasin has been a major figure in preserving and reviving the cedar wood flute tradition and performs worldwide, having been featured at the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine, Lincoln Center, Madison Square Garden, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and at the United Nations, as well as at numerous universities and concert venues.
