Talking Story with Julia

April 29 (Wednesday), 6:30 p.m. – “Talking Story with Julia,” Adult Fiction Section (2nd Floor). Author Julia Keiko Matsui Higa Estrella will share stories from her book “Being Local in Hawaii: ‘Talking Story’ with Julia of Wahiawa: Inspirational Stories from the Heart of Aloha.” The book presents the author’s life experiences and views on various areas that have affected her life including racism, ethnic identity, human longevity, and her first-hand experiences engaging in civil obedience. She will also conduct a “talk story” session with participants in this one-hour program suitable for ages 12 and older.
