Come to #HiloLibrary to hear a presentation from author Al McDermid, along with a reading from his books: ‘A Halo for Red Betsy' and ‘The Cheongsam Bombshell'.
Excerpt from Program Flier:
“As with many other men, I first came to Hawaii aboard a US Navy ship. Later when I was stationed at Pearl Harbor, I decided to leave the Navy so I could attend the University of Hawaii, where I met my friend and co-author, Aki Liao. It was at his suggestion that we write A Halo for Red Betsy.
I am not a systematic novelist, and do not do a great deal of planning before I get started. This is what I plan to speak on; my haphazard writing process, and how, against all logic and reason, a novel comes out at the other end.”
