Emergency Preparedness

Learn what local communities are doing beyond stocking up on food and water emergency supplies for a minimum of 14 days.

Please join us for a special presentation about emergency preparedness with Leslie Kahihikolo –President of Kailua Alert & Prepared and Secretary of Hawaii Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD). This 2- hour presentation will cover important details to prepare for hurricanes, tsunamis, and ballistic missiles. Information about Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) and HAM amateur radio will be shared, as well.

The Friends of the Library – Kahuku (FOLK) will provide small survival kit prizes for attendees, as long as supplies last.

Program schedule is subject to change. Contact the library ten days in advance to request a sign language interpreter or if special accommodations are needed.
