For the month of March, the HSL Book Group will discuss The House at the Edge of Night by Catherine Banner.
Named one of the best books of 2016 by NPR, Los Angeles Public Library, and Kirkus Reviews, this historical novel follows four generations of the Esposito family as they run a café on a small island off the coast of Italy, navigating the ebb and flow of life and love through two world wars, a great recession, and the threat of fascism.
The HSL Book Group meets on the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Language, Literature, and History Section. New members are always welcome. No registration necessary.
