Chen Yi’s Concerto for Flute & Pipa will receive its World Premiere with the Hawai’i Symphony Orchestra. The Eastern Light program is imbued with Eastern influences: Griffes Pleasure Dome is filled with dynamic change and vivid musical landscapes, and Stravinsky and Borodin build on the rich tapestry of color and light that rises in the east.
