One of the most popular operas ever written, Bizet’s Carmen returns with its universally beloved melodies to Honolulu!
The Spanish gypsy Carmen seduces the young soldier Don José, but their torrid love affair turns sour as he attacks his leader, shirks his duties, and leaves his lifelong sweetheart to join Carmen’s band of smugglers. Carmen soon grows tired of Don José, leaving him for the flashy bullfighter Escamillo. Don José seeks revenge.
Starring Kate Aldrich in her HOT Debut as the gypsy temptress.
Premiered in Paris in 1875. Sung in French with Supertitles in English.
