Join us for a garden terrace planting session at Lokelani Intermediate School to get the school garden “summer-ized” with cover-crops and about a dozen new plantings of fruit and native plants! (Tiʻ, maʻo – hwaiian ʻcottonʻ, aʻaliʻi poe -ʻuliʻuli rattle ʻbeadʻ plant, maiʻa-banana, fig, more tiʻ and awapuhi! among other fun plants!) (cover-cropping with buckwheat, clover, sun hemp and hairy vetch!)
How about a little community project with your kids to start your summer with the keiki? Tasks for all levels and inclinations!
Come lend a hand if you can for even part of the time.
AND… We need a few volunteers “worm sitters” to take care of a worm bin(s) for the summer. We have 7 bins that need good summer homes to be fed once a week (or more!) depending on the worm population! A great, easy way to keep your keiki engaged with a school garden right at home all summer and help a garden out at the same time!
