Protecting Your Intellectual Property

Tracey Ohta and Seth Reiss will provide an introduction to the basic types of intellectual property. They will also teach you how to protect your intellectual property and will offer helpful tips and guidelines on how to navigate the federal registration systems.

Don’t forget to bring in your copyright or trademark registration documents, or patent application drafts! Two prepared individuals will be chosen at random to receive a FREE one hour consultation at the conclusion of the seminar!

The program will be held in Hawaii State Library’s first floor reading room.

Meet Your Speakers

TRACEY OHTA

Ms. Ohta is an associate at Watanabe Ing LLP. Her practice focuses primarily on the areas of intellectual property, technology and internet law and creditor’s rights and business law. She is currently the chairperson of the Intellectual Property and Technology Law section of the Hawaii State Bar Association.

SETH REISS

Mr. Reiss is one of the few registered patent attorneys in Hawaii. Mr. Reiss practices patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and technology and internet law at his company Lex-IP.com and is of counsel at Watanabe Ing LLP. His practice includes the preparation and prosecution of patent and trademark applications nationally and internationally; drafting and negotiating licenses and other agreements; advice, strategic counsel, audits and opinions concerning Internet law and compliance; and representation in both traditional and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
