Hailed as a “heroic virtuoso,” and “a dazzling performer,” Mark Salman's performances have been described as “powerful,” “astonishing, exacting and evocative,” “dramatic,” “wildly imaginative” and “touchingly lyrical.”
The program for the evening will include Rondo Capriccioso, Op. 14 by Mendelssohn, Piano Sonata No. 17 in D minor “Tempest” by Beethoven, 3 Mazurkas and Polonaise in F# minor, Op. 44 by Chopin, Valse Oubliee No. 1 and Ballade in B minor by Liszt.
He has toured Europe, Asia, Canada, and throughout the United States. He has performed at Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall in New York City has been the subject of profiles in The New York Times and has been featured on numerous radio and television broadcasts in the U.S., Europe and in China.
Besides his wide-ranging repertoire, Mr. Salman is perhaps best known for his expertise on Beethoven, having performed the complete cycle of the thirty-two piano sonatas on both coasts as well as in 18 broadcasts on KING-FM in Seattle.
