Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Festival Series
These festivals function as a showcase for some of Hawai`i's foremost artists in the slack key guitar genre. These artists, through the festival, help to promote, preserve, and perpetuate Hawai`i's indigenous guitar art form that is 185 years old. These festivals also serves as an educational tool for visitors looking to learn more about our culture through its unique music.
• May 27 – First Annual “Kapolei Style” at Ka Makana Alii Shopping Center, Kapolei
• July 4 – “North Shore Style” at Turtle Bay Resort, Kahuku
• August 13 – 35th Annual “Waikiki Style” at Kapiolani Bandstand and Park
• September TBC – 2nd Annual “Kailua Style” at Kailua Town Center, Kailua
• October 22 – 6th Annual “Westside Style” at Hoalauna Park, Ewa Beach
• December 3 – 3rd Annual “Windward Style” at Windward Mall, Kaneohe
