Line, Shape and Color: Creating Abstract Art with Mike Takemoto

Utilizing art elements and design principles, participants will create their own unique abstract art works. Led by Assistant Professor of Art, University of Hawai`i Maui College, Mike Takemoto, who has exhibited his paintings, murals, sculpture, and installations at various locations in Hawai’i, including the Honolulu Museum of Art, the Maui Arts and Cultural Center, and the Hui No’eau Visual Arts Center. In 2003, his work was featured in the 6th Biennial of Hawai’i Artists at the Contemporary Museum in Honolulu.
This free program is open to adults and all materials will be provided. The program is sponsored by the Maui Friends of the Library.
