In this class, we will learn about the effects plastic has on our marine environment, and ways to use art as communication and solution. We will see a short presentation on the subject, then dive into the art. We will be creating mosaics from small plastics collected on Oahu beaches on repurposed wood frames. Participants will be engaged in composition, pattern, texture, and an overall introduction to found plastic as a new medium. Mosaic layout, planning, and styles are also highlighted. All materials will be provided, so please register in advance.
