New Year’s Concert Opera for Fukushima Kids Hawaii

A fundraising concert for Fukushima KIds Hawaii Project 6 (2016), to bring babies, moms and children from Fukushima to the Big Island for a month to 3 months in 2016, aiming to raise $20,000 total to support the cause.
This concert is produced by Big Island Opera together with Aloha Keiki Ensemble. Michaeloha as a conductor, Annu Shionoya as a music director and piano, two great opera singers (Marius and Lisa) of the Island, folk singer Gen Morita, two flutists Yumi and Roy and a prominent contemporary dancer Shizuno Nasu will perform with the live music (flute and piano)
Enjoy the music, dance, silent auciton, wine and cheese at East Hawaii Cultural Center in Hilo.
Suggested donation $20 or more.
After March 11 disaster, Yumi and Gen left their home in Chiba where they had an organic farm and sustainable life center, they moved to Kona. They initiated the movent Tsunagu-Hikari, helping to move pregnant women and children from Fukushima to Okinawa, then, they started Fukushima Kids Hawaii in 2013, hosting over 82 children and moms from Fukushima here in Hawaii. This year, they aim to host another 20 children and moms for one month or more.
